A life dedicated to faith & teaching.
Mary Jean Powers partners with Jesus-followers and their ministry leaders through Bible teaching, debriefing, life coaching, and chaplaincy. Ordained as a Teacher through The Evangel Ministerial Association, she has ministered on five continents and in over thirty-five countries — serving the body of Christ across generational and denominational borders.
Her work spans organizations including Mercy Ships, YWAM, Teen Challenge, Walk Thru the Bible, and Cadence, International. Her gift and passion for teaching the Word of God has opened doors as a seminar, retreat, and conference speaker. She is the founder of Get the Word Out, a U.S. faith-based nonprofit.
With over fifty years of teaching experience — privately and in the classroom, in Christian schools, churches, and para-church organizations — she has also served as a musician, training worship teams, directing choirs, and arranging and recording church music. Mary Jean lives in Colorado near her grown children and five grandchildren.
Discipleship
Those who know her will speak more of her character than of her accomplishments — of her intense dedication to the Lord and her desire to know His heart. She knows the Word, and she teaches it in a way that moves people to discover the depths of God’s Word and the beauty of Jesus, the Living Word. Rather than “Teacher” or “Missionary,” she is more often described as a mentor and role model.
